Roots of the Earth
We are Roots of the Earth, an organization that brings together elders from indigenous cultures, rescuing ancestral wisdom and making it accessible to society. Ceremonies such as the Kiva, sweat lodges and the Sun Dance are held during their gatherings. Roots of the Earth has spent the last 30 years fulfilling a great duty, serving as a bridge to establish a global intertribal alliance between Native communities and contemporary non-Native groups around the world to preserve the legacy of Tigre Perez.
It has brought together people from many cultures across the five continents, creating bonds of unity and peace among diverse tribes and nations. Thus encouraging the ancient practice of prayer and creating a space for spiritual appreciation, leaving a spiritual legacy for future generations.
What is the Kumbha Mela?
Inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, the Kumbha Mela is a vast Hindu pilgrimage where millions of devotees gather to bathe in sacred rivers. Four major locations are recognized for hosting the Kumbha Mela: Haridwar, Allahabad (Prayagraj), Nashik-Trimbakeshwar, and Ujjain. It is believed that bathing in the confluence of the three sacred rivers—the Yamuna, Saraswati, and Ganga—purifies individuals, washing away their sins and liberating them from the cycle of rebirth (Samsara).
Kiva Kumbha Mela 2025
Spiritual leaders from indigenous communities across the globe will embark on their first pilgrimage through the five continents, culminating in their second participation in the Kiva Kumbha Mela ceremony in India in 2025. During this sacred gathering, they will express gratitude to Mother Earth and unite with yogis and mystics to share experiences and mutual respect for the protection of Mother Earth and her holy rivers.
